StoMTO

StoMTO

Plan takeoff in the browser — scale, measure, materials.

Built for UK/IE estimators, yards, and merchants — by someone who has sold stone and worked jobs for over twenty years. Save beside the drawing on your device. No StoMTO file hosting. No contracts.

Three steps from drawing to list

No Windows install. Open the desk in Chrome, Edge, or Safari.

  1. 01

    Open the plan

Load a PDF or drawing on the desk. Set scale — or draw scale zones for split sheets.

  2. 02

    Measure by layer

Trace paving, kerbs, counts. Apply a template pack. Bind SKUs when your catalogue is loaded.

  3. 03

    Export the list

Materials, estimate, stamped sheet, quote pack file, or a guest link. Save locally — share only what you choose.

What you get on the desk

Measure tools, trade layers, assemblies, stone maths, estimate OH&P, revision compare (Yard+), and live catalogue when you need pricing without fragile Excel.

  • PDF, images, TIFF, and DXF

Open PDF, DXF, TIFF, PNG, or JPG in the browser. DWG is not opened here (keeps the tab light) — Save As → DXF or Print to PDF from CAD. Calibrate known length or 1:N, including multi-scale zones.

  • Measure on the sheet

Lines, paths, areas, rectangles, circles, arcs, holes, counts, count-region, volumes, annotations, clouds, and callouts. Continuous measure, snap, stroke-lock, marquee, orange grips, typicals, metric/imperial, and ? tips.

  • Assemblies and stone maths

Template packs expand into materials with waste. Joint millimetres and pack coverage round-up are built for paving and hardscape.

  • Estimate and export

OH&P worksheet, CSV, XLSX, stamped PNG/PDF, DXF markup export, and Hub-shaped quote pack download (JSON/CSV). You verify quantities before you bid.

  • Your folder, not our drive

Link a local folder (Chrome/Edge) or Save/Load takeoff.json. If that folder sits in OneDrive or SharePoint, the OS syncs it — StoMTO does not host drawings.

  • Catalogue options that ship today

CSV import on Projects. Yard+: paste a live HTTPS feed URL (≤1000 rows cached in the browser). Merchant: Hub-shaped feed pull when HUB_FEED_URL is configured. Merchant/founder: Export → Send to Hub posts a draft quote pack to HUB_QUOTE_URL.

Desk details — everything that ships

The smaller tools and UX tweaks, not just the headline. All items below are in the current desk (package limits noted where they apply).

Open, scale & navigate

  • PDF, PNG/JPG, TIFF, and DXF in the browser (DWG: Save As DXF or Print to PDF)
  • Calibrate known length, or set true-size 1:N without drawing a line
  • Multi-scale on one sheet: + Scale, name each, box Zone, switch in the dropdown
  • Apply 1:N from title-block text when it is detected
  • Flatten PDF → seamless bitmap (closes hatch/pattern tile gaps)
  • Close plan keeps measures in the takeoff list
  • Page strip + prev/next for multi-page PDFs
  • Zoom in/out, pinch-zoom on touch, wheel + arrow-key scroll
  • Thicker desk scrollbars so the horizontal bar is easy to grab

Measure tools

  • Pan (drag empty to scroll; click a measure to select)
  • Line, polyline/path, area polygon, rectangle, circle, 3-point arc
  • Holes / cutouts inside an area
  • Count clicks and count-region box for ticks
  • Volume (area + depth → m³)
  • Annotations, revision clouds, callouts with leaders
  • Continuous measure — Enter finishes; tool + layer stay; Continuous chip
  • Quantity / dimension labels on the plan
  • Area ↔ perimeter toggle, stroke weight, hide measurements
  • Typicals / count multipliers
  • Metric and imperial display

Edit & precision

  • Snap: vertex, edge, ortho (hold Alt to free-draw)
  • Stroke-lock curve follow and rough → region refine
  • Click-select measures; Shift+drag marquee; Shift multi-select in the list
  • Orange vertex grips after commit — drag with snap
  • Dup + Jump in the takeoff list (Jump centres the sheet on that measure)
  • Undo last vertex (Backspace); Undo ×2 (Ctrl+Backspace); Ctrl+Z
  • Layer lock, solo layer, rename/delete, coloured categories
  • Keyboard + touch tips sheet (?); in-desk feature list

Assists (optional — you still verify)

  • Hatch / pattern match: search box then sample patches
  • OCR scale hint from a canvas crop (Tesseract, on-device)
  • Layer suggestions from plan text (review before apply)
  • PDF optional-content (OCG) layers when present in the file
  • Title-block scrape into report fields where text allows

Layers, templates & materials

  • Trade layers bound to SKU / assembly / waste %
  • Template packs: patio & drive (Solo); garden, paint, civils on Yard+
  • Assemblies expand to materials list
  • Joint mm and pack coverage round-up (stone maths)
  • Layer summaries in the takeoff panel
  • CSV catalogue import on Projects; live URL cache on Yard+

Estimate, export & share

  • OH&P / contingency estimate worksheet (defaults persist locally)
  • Report view filled from title-block / project fields
  • CSV and XLSX takeoff + materials sheets
  • Export selected rows only
  • Stamped PNG and PDF of the marked sheet
  • DXF markup export of measures
  • Hub-shaped quote pack download (JSON or CSV) — not a live Hub POST
  • Guest share link (expiry by package) — not concurrent live edit
  • Revision snapshot, quantity Δ, and A/B ghost overlay (Yard+)

Files, account & desk chrome

  • Local folder link (Chrome/Edge) + takeoff.json auto-save
  • IndexedDB draft recovery if the tab crashes
  • Save / Load JSON fallback (incl. iPad Safari)
  • Signed-in project cloud files (optional — still not a drawing drive product)
  • Company logo + name branding on desk and exports
  • Side docks with touch-friendly drawers and larger targets on iPad
  • Presence / session label; concurrent session cap by package (no MAC bind)
  • Sign-in on any browser; Settings sign-out and licence status
  • Live HTTPS catalogue URL ≤1000 rows cached (Yard+)
  • Feed CSV/JSON format download from Settings
  • Hub-shaped catalogue pull when HUB_FEED_URL is set (Merchant)
  • Site-wide menu on marketing and account pages (hidden on desk / guest share)

Questions & answers

Straight answers for estimators, yard owners, and AI/search agents indexing this site.

Do you store our drawings on StoMTO servers?
No. Plans and takeoff.json stay in a folder you control (or a browser download). Optional guest share packs and account/billing data are stored so the product can run. StoMTO is not a drawing drive product.
Is there a contract or minimum term?
No contracts. Cancel anytime in billing settings (Stripe Customer Portal). Annual plans are billed as 10 months for the price of 12.
Do prices include VAT?
List prices are excl. VAT. StoMTO is not VAT-registered yet — Checkout does not add VAT.
How does the 7-day trial work?
Create an account, pick Solo, Yard, or Merchant, and complete Stripe Checkout with a card on file. Trial lasts seven days; then billing continues unless you cancel. Requires STRIPE keys configured on the deployment.
What is the difference between Solo, Yard, and Merchant?
Solo: 2 sessions, core patio/drive templates, 14-day guest shares. Yard: 8 sessions, full template library, revision compare, live HTTPS catalogue URL. Merchant: 20 sessions, longer shares, Hub-shaped catalogue pull when the server has HUB_FEED_URL set, and Merchant-branded quote packs (letterhead, VAT totals, print/PDF). Lower packages still download a generic StoMTO quote pack.
Can we use StoMTO on iPad?
Yes, in the browser — touch docks and larger controls are in the desk. Safari often cannot use the folder picker; use Save/Load JSON instead.
Do you support DWG?
Not as a native viewer — that would bloat the browser bundle. StoMTO opens PDF, DXF, TIFF, PNG, and JPG. From AutoCAD or DWG TrueView use Save As → DXF, or Print to PDF, then open that file on the desk.
How does StoMTO compare to Bluebeam or PlanSwift?
Bluebeam is strong PDF markup; PlanSwift is deep Windows takeoff. StoMTO is browser-first measure → materials with hardscape maths and optional catalogue feeds, without a Windows install — not a full Bluebeam collaboration suite or PlanSwift desktop replacement.
Is AI automatic takeoff?
No. Optional local assists (pattern/hatch match, OCR scale hint, layer suggestions) need your review. You set scale and own the quantities.
Can we push quotes into Irish Stone Hub?
Yes when HUB_FEED_URL (or HUB_QUOTE_URL) is set and you are on Merchant. Export → Send to Hub posts the quote pack JSON. You can still download JSON/CSV anytime. Hub catalogue pull remains a separate Merchant feature.
What smaller desk features are included?
Beyond the headline tools: 1:N + multi-scale zones, flatten PDF, continuous measure + Continuous chip, dimension labels, holes, count region, clouds/callouts, snap and stroke-lock, marquee and orange grips, Dup/Jump, pattern/OCR assists, PDF doc layers, template packs, OH&P + report, stamped PNG/PDF, DXF markup export, selected-row CSV, revision Δ (Yard+), guest share, local folder + JSON save, project cloud files, iPad docks, feed format templates, thicker plan scrollbars, and the site menu. See the full list on the home page under Desk details.
